The Pugilist Adamantine Update

This month we are celebrating the pugilist’s 3rd anniversary of release on the DM’s Guild as well as it reaching Adamantine metal sales. With the new metal, the pugilist class joins the ranks of the DM’s Guild’s most prestigious offerings and I couldn’t be happier.

I want to express my gratitude to the D&D community for embracing the pugilist class the way it has. I’m honored to have written something that’s used and loved at so many tables around the world.

If you’re reading this and have never heard of the pugilist, you can check out the free preview of the class on the DM’s Guild now. It includes the core class and two archetypes.

The Pugilist Class Preview

With the Adamantine Update, the pugilist gets new background prompts and personality quirks to help you build your next character. This update also brings with it the first magic using fight club, the Hand of Dread. If you’ve ever wanted to play a pugilist who turned their life around after a deal with a devil, this is the fight club for you.

  1. I love the Pugilist class, I bought it myself back in February. This class has inspired not one but two characters for the novel I’m writing. Great job, you deserve all the success you’ve gotten from this. I was wondering however if you could do another subclass for the magus. A true military mage type, a battlemage if you will (call it The Battlemage Corp. perhaps? Feel free to scrutinize that name if you like or call it something else. If you’re interested that is.)
Perhaps this class could have a slightly greater emphasis on melee/ranged combat and have access to the fighting style feature of the Fighter and Tactician Scholar. Anyway let me know what you think, if you can.

    Sincerely,
    Jordan
