The Pugilist Turns Two

Today I’m celebrating the pugilist class’ 2nd anniversary on the DM’s Guild with a massive (and long overdue!) overhaul. It’s actual birthday was June 7th but it took longer than I expected to get the design improvements and new art that I wanted to properly celebrate it’s success. I’m happy and proud to say that this is the best shape the Pugilist has ever been in – and it’s thanks to the support and enthusiasm of the community.

If you’re reading this and have never heard of the Pugilist, you can check out the free preview of the class on the DM’s Guild now. It includes the core class and two archetypes.

The Pugilist Class Preview

With this anniversary the pugilist class will become a paid product on the DM’s Guild. It has been a PWYW product for almost the entirety of it’s first 2 years there. Everyone who downloaded it in those first two years will get this update absolutely free. Everyone who didn’t can get the class, plus six archetypes, plus 3 antagonist stat blocks, plus 3 new weapon types, plus 24 magic items for only $2.50. Not a bad deal for the latecomers!

For people familiar with the class, the Additional Fight Clubs have been added to the core Pugilist document, heavily revised and greatly improved. I haven’t been satisfied with much of their design for most of the past 2 years and felt frustrated with my previous attempts to correct those issues. I’m excited to say that the revisions turned out fantastic. The anniversary brings along with it 14 new magic items and a new Fight Club, Dog & Hound, for those pugilists with four-legged friends. You can see all those improvements and additions for yourself right now!

In addition to all of the above, Patreon backers got access to a greatly improved Whiskey Fist, a fight club for hard drinkers and heavy hitters.
